Youth Gang Prevention Toolkit

The Ministry of Justice has launched a new resource on youth gang prevention to help communities develop local strategies to address youth gang issues.

The Youth Gang Prevention Toolkit for Community Planning, and its accompanying Quick-Start Guide are designed to assist service providers, community leaders, and others who are working to help prevent youth from becoming involved in gangs or help them leave gangs.

The toolkit is based on the work of eight community agencies that have previously participated in the BC provincial youth gang prevention strategy from 2006 to 2010: MOSAIC in partnership with the South Asian Community Coalition Against Youth Violence; Surrey School District; Kamloops School District; Touchstone Family Association (Richmond); Vancouver Aboriginal Community Policing Centre Society; Abbotsford Community Service; Vancouver School District; Prince George in partnership with the Justice Education Society.
