Walkability Patterns in Metro Vancouver

This webinar offers a unique presentation on how variations in built environment influence walking patterns and will include data of communities across the Lower Mainland. The Public Health Services Authority on behalf of BC's Healthy Built Environment Alliance will facilitate this session on Wednesday February 12, 2014 from 1 – 2:30 p.m.

The webinar will include data of communities across the Lower Mainland and will explore

  • Where are the most walkable neighbourhoods?
  • Where is there room for improvement?
  • What are the implications for vulnerable populations
  • How is walkability related to chronic disease preventions and sustainable environments?

Presenters include Dr. Lawrence Frank, Director, Health & Community Design Lab, School of Community and Regional Planning, UBC.
