Smoke-free Outdoor Places Webinar

The ‘Smoke-free Outdoor Places' webinar is designed for local governments that are considering the benefits, drawbacks and process of prohibiting smoking in public outdoor places. The April 8th webinar will include discussion of additional benefits to restricting smoking including socially protecting young people and supporting people who are trying to quit.


University of Waterloo's Ryan David Kennedy will present evidence to support outdoor smoking restrictions - including protection, prevention, and cessation benefits. Ian Wilson, City of Kelowna, and Sheena Fraser, Village of Pemberton, will share their experiences of implementing local bylaws and programs to promote smoke-free outdoor places in British Columbia.
