Increasing Accessibility

The Province B.C. has launched a consultation process to better understand how government, businesses and communities can increase accessibility and decrease barriers for people living with disabilities.

There are online discussion forums for each of the six theme areas:

Innovation in disability services;
Personal supports, aids and devices;
Work and contribution;
Housing and accessibility in the broader built environment;
Social Networks; and
Asset accumulation through the Registered Disability Savings Plan.

Those interested are encouraged to consider participating in the on-line or in-person conversations. Please go to the consultation website for further information on how you can participate.

The feedback gathered through this consultation will inform the development of a White Paper that will form the foundation for a Summit later in June.

You can email your feedback to: disabilitywhitepaper@gov.bc.ca For further information contact Bob Crane, Housing Policy Branch, Office of Housing and Construction Standards at 778-679-9657.
