Here is our monthly summary of UBCM funding programs, other grant programs, and resources of interest to BC local governments, First Nations and community organizations:

Other Funding Programs

Columbia Basin Trust Community Development Program

CBT works closely with people who live in the Columbia Basin to develop and deliver funding programs and initiatives that respond to their needs and support communities. The Community Development Program is a flexible granting stream with a continuous intake. Non-profit organizations, First Nations and local governments can meet with CBT staff to apply.

Western Diversification Program

Industry associations, community, economic development and research organizations, post-secondary institutions, First Nations, Tribal Councils and aboriginal-led not-for-profit organizations are eligible for the Western Diversification Program (WDP), that makes strategic investments in initiatives that enhance and strengthen the economy of western Canada. The WDP Call for Proposals period opened on May 1, 2014, and closes May 30, 2014.

Local Sport Program Development Fund

The Local Sport Program Development Fund makes community sport more accessible to people of all abilities by providing funding to sport programs delivered by local sport organizations, municipalities and Aboriginal communities. Eligible applicants are invited to apply by June 4, 2014, for funding of up to $2,000 for new and expanded programs that directly lead to new sport participation opportunities in their communities.
