Still Time to Participate in Survey Month

February is Survey Month. But what does that really mean for BC local governments?

Every February, UBCM asks senior local government staff to complete a range of surveys on local government operations and administration. The data collected is then made freely available in the Surveys & Statistics section of the CivicInfo BC website. The purpose of the surveys is to provide local governments with high-quality, practical information for research and decision-making. In addition, UBCM uses the survey data to advocate on behalf of the needs and challenges expressed by you, our member local governments.

UBCM, CivicInfo, and partner organizations that work with BC local governments design and deploy the local government surveys. These organizations include the Local Government Management Association (LGMA), BC Recreation & Parks Association (BCRPA), BC Transit, and the Ministry of Community, Sport & Cultural Development.

Survey Month is drawing to a close – but in this final week of February, UBCM would ask all local government CAOs, Corporate Officers, and Finance Officers to make time to complete the annual Local Government Surveys.

Instructions and links to each survey appear below. Using information current as of this month, please complete all surveys by no later than March 4, 2013.
