Healthy Food & Beverage Sales

The Healthy Food & Beverage Sales (HFBS) program was developed in 2008 with funding from the BC Healthy Living Alliance. UBCM is working with the BC Recreation & Parks Association to manage the community grant portion of the Healthy Eating Strategy and to support the development and implementation of healthy food and beverage sales in recreation facilities and local government buildings.

Approximately $600,000 was available for the HFBS program:

  • Phase 1 (up to $12,500) - grants were awarded in April 2008.
  • Phase 2 (up to $7,500) - grants were awarded in December 2008.
  • Phase 3 (up to $7,500) - grants were awarded in May 2009.
  • Phase 4 (up to $7,500) - grants were available in November 2009.
